Bitter cold sets in tonight; mid-week storm brewing?

It’s not a done deal just yet but I have to say, my confidence is growing about the potential for a decent snow mid-week, Tuesday/Wednesday. The GFS model has been particularly consistent over the last 3, 4 days and the overall pattern has finally shifted to one much more friendly to coastal winter storms. Still too early to get into specifics of amounts, though, but if this thing unfolds as models currently show it, it would certainly be much more than that last dusting we had.

In the meantime, a wind chill advisory is in effect for our area from 4am until 10am tomorrow morning, as wind chills will hover around 0 to –5 degrees thanks to a stiff north wind overnight Saturday into Sunday morning. Actual temperatures will not exceed the low 20s on Sunday.
