Wish I were joking: more wintry weather ahead?

Hate to bring you more tidings of wintry weather, but there are two more threats ahead. The first arrives tomorrow (Sunday) around noon or shortly thereafter. Temps will be just below freezing, and models are showing that some moisture may sneak north into our area ahead of a system out to our west. It’s not a lot of moisture, but it *could* be enough to produce a brief period of sleet/freezing rain.

The next threat is next Thursday morning. A strong cold front arrives Wednesday afternoon/evening, possibly with thunderstorms and heavy rain. If the cold air and push in quick enough behind the front while precip is still in place over central VA, we could see another round of moderate snow for a few hours Thursday morning.
