It took a while, but we finally have our 2nd tropical storm of the season. Tropical Storm Danny is currently over the open Atlantic, with maximum sustained winds of 50mph. Most models show it strengthening into a low end hurricane in a few days, with a track that takes it very close to the Lesser Antilles by early Monday morning. As you can see, there is still some uncertainty to how quickly and how much Danny with intensify, as the various models are fairly spread out.
Models are in fairly good agreement right now on a track that takes Danny just north of the Lesser Antilles, then setting its sights on Puerto Rico and possibly the Dominican Republic. After that, Danny may try to curve northward but that’s getting a bit far out in the forecast period.
Closer to home, we’ll see scattered showers and maybe a few storms each day for the next few days, under partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
