The new week will get off to a very warm and dry start, with highs in the mid 80s Monday and Tuesday under mostly sunny skies. After Tuesday, shower and storm chances increase as a series of systems work their way out of the central U.S. and into the Mid-Atlantic. Temperatures will dip into the mid 60s on Wednesday, then low to mid 70s for the rest of the week.
Further down the road, models are strongly hinting at a major pattern change that would bring cooler weather and much wetter conditions to much of the east and southeast for the first week or two of May.
