A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 9pm, and some strong storms are still expected but will mostly be confined to areas east and south of Richmond, from Williamsburg to VA Beach to Emporia, as these areas saw much more sunlight (and thus more fuel for storms). It’s looking like mostly garden variety thunder showers for Richmond and areas along and west of 95.

After this evening, humidity levels drop and we’ll be dry to start the new week, and slightly cooler as well.
