Severe storm threat this afternoon

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 9pm for all areas shaded in blue. This includes Hanover and Goochland Counties, but not the city of Richmond or Henrico, or Powhatan or Chesterfield. In fact, it seems the best chance of strong storms will remain over areas north of I-64 and west of US-15.

The main threats are damaging wind gusts to 60 mph and hail.
