We’ll get a brief but very nice reprieve from winter on Thursday and Friday with highs in the upper 60s Thursday, and low to mid 50s Friday under mostly sunny skies. It won’t last long though, as an arctic air mass returns Saturday. In fact, there is some concern about a period of sleet/freezing rain early Saturday morning over northern Virginia and D.C. with temperatures there staying right at freezing for a few hours. For Richmond, we’ll see scattered on and off showers throughout the weekend, not really amounting to much. Highs will be in the mid 40s. Milder temperatures will return next week along with a few more chances for rain.
