The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
   The City of Richmond in central Virginia...
   Northwestern New Kent County in east central Virginia...
   Henrico County in central Virginia...
   Southeastern Hanover County in central Virginia...

* Until 630 PM EDT

* At 541 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Laurel, or
   near Virginia Union University, moving southeast at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Trained weather spotters and radar.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
            damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
            wind damage to trees and powerlines.

* This severe thunderstorm will be near,
   Richmond around 545 PM EDT.
   Mechanicsville, Virginia Union University, Virginia Commonwealth
   University and East Highland Park around 550 PM EDT.
   Highland Springs around 555 PM EDT.
   Bottoms Bridge and Tunstall around 615 PM EDT.

Other locations impacted by this severe thunderstorm include Orapax
Farms, Elko, Short Pump, Montrose, Sandston, Longdale, Glendale,
Westwood, Richmond International and Fair Oaks.
