As I alluded to a few posts ago, the pattern will remain favorable for more opportunities for wintry precip for the next week or two at least. Our next winter weather threat arrives Saturday. Initially it looked like a brief period of snow or sleet then quickly going over to rain, but the NAM model for the last two runs now shows the precip arriving well ahead of the warmer air, which means a longer period of snow and sleet before the changeover to rain Saturday evening. *If* the NAM is correct (will need to see if other models confirm this change), an additional couple of inches of snow is possible, with some sleet, before the warm air arrives after 7pm Saturday. The good news is, by Sunday morning temperatures will be heading upwards, possibly reaching the low 50s by Sunday afternoon. At that point, the rain combined with milder temperatures should help erase any snow/sleet that falls Saturday afternoon.
More updates to come.
