Without further ado, here is my “first call” for this winter storm. Timing will be Friday morning through about noon or so on Saturday, with the bulk of the snow coming Friday evening. The biggest question mark for me is areas just east and southeast of Richmond. If the center of the low pressure comes up the coast further inland, it will pull warmer air closer to Richmond and may cause a period of a snow/sleet/rain mix for some folks. So I’ll likey have to do some adjusting over the next two days but overall I feel this is a good general overview.
- Washington DC and Winchester south to Fredricksburg, Goochland, Farmville and west to Lynchburg, Lexington, and Harrisonburg: 15-24”
- Midlothian, City of Richmond, Mechanicsville, Powhatan, to Ashland and Doswell, to Tappahannock, West Point, and Charles City: 7-10”
- South Boston to Petersburg to Williamsburg to Newport News and Norfolk: 3-6”
