Pretty straightforward, “copy and paste” type forecast for the next five days: mostly sunny and highs in the low 90s. Not a drop of rain expected anytime soon, unfortunately but at least no signs of a major heat wave either.
Meanwhile in the tropics, still nothing of any concern to the East Coast. The system I posted about a few days ago that looked like it could threaten Florida has been having a hard time getting organized and STILL has not reached tropical storm status. Computer guidance, with the help of the hurricane hunter aircraft, now has this system passing south of Florida and into the Gulf of Mexico. From there, considerable uncertainty exists as to it’s next stop. Models do show (and current conditions in the Gulf support) gradual intensification and this system *could* still become a strong tropical storm as it enters the Gulf. More updates in the coming days.
