We’ll stay dry and chilly through the rest of the weekend, but rain (scattered light showers) is heading our way for Monday, along with a slight warm up (low 50s) to get next week started before the next big chill later in the week.
Keeping an eye on a *potential* ice threat for Saturday the 17th. I’m seeing some indications on the forecast models of a cold air wedge in place over Virginia from late Friday evening through early Saturday morning (surface temps at or just below freezing), with precip arriving ahead of the next front over-running those cold surface temps. This would lead to a period of sleet or freezing rain, or possibly a mix of both. But, don’t rush out for bread and milk just yet…this is still a little ways out and I’d like to see more of a consensus develop among the various models before committing to the forecast for that Saturday.
