Dry and mild New Years Day, but rain is on the way

Happy New Year! 2017 will get off to a wet start, with showers moving through the state beginning late Sunday night through Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures will be more on the mild side (relatively speaking)…upper 40s Monday, then near 60 on Tuesday. By mid-week, the pattern turns much colder, and our first shot at wintry weather could be here by next weekend. More on that as we get closer…still too far out at this point to get into specifics, as models don’t have a good handle on that potential system just yet.
