Quick update on the threat for some sleet/freezing rain on Saturday morning. This is not looking like a major issue for the Richmond area. We will see a short period of freezing rain and/or sleet early Saturday morning (roughly 3 to 6 or 7am) before changing over to rain by 8 to 9am as temperatures begin to climb towards the low 50s. Ice issues will be more widespread as you head northwest of Richmond, towards Charlottesville and Orange/Culpepper. Even though we won’t see much ice, it only takes a little to cause issues, so be sure to give yourself extra time and take it easy on the roads.

More sleet/freezing rain is possible Monday morning, but that’s looking like another very minor event, if it happens at all.
