Sorry folks, I jumped the gun a bit on that last post. I didn’t think the models were going to make any drastic changes after last night, but they sure did this morning. I need to raise my snow totals forecast for Richmond to 4-6”, with less snow the further north and west (1 to 3” for areas north of 64 and west of 95) and roughly 6-9” as you head towards Emporia and over to Hampton Roads/Norfolk/VA Beach and the Tidewater areas.
The storm will get underway late Friday night into early Saturday morning, then really crank into high gear about sunrise or soon thereafter on Saturday, then wind down and pull away after 2pm. Snow will be very slow to melt as even day time temperatures will remain at or below freezing through Monday.
