Wednesday severe storm threat

Much of Virginia is under a slight risk for severe storms Wednesday afternoon and evening; a strong cold front will arrive during mid-afternoon, and if we can get sufficient sunlight for any length of time during the morning hours, some of these storms could become severe and bring damaging winds and hail. There may be two rounds of storms, one between 1 and 4pm, and the other between 8pm and midnight.

All storms will be gone before sunrise Thursday, and temperatures will be noticeably colder, in the low 50s lasting into Friday under mostly sunny skies. Another big warm up is looking likely next week after a chilly weekend.
