Mild again this week, then…snow?

Get outside and enjoy this mild week while you can! Temperatures in the upper 60s/low 70s will dominate our weather through Thursday under partly to mostly sunny skies, before the pattern undergoes a major shift beginning Friday. Not only will the eastern United States see much colder temperatures, but snow can’t be ruled out for parts of the Mid-Atlantic on Sunday. Several forecast models have been hinting at a big system headed our way that could, if the storm track is just right, bring some accumulating snow to Virginia. I want to emphasize that this is still five days out, and forecasting snow in March is trickier than normal, given the overall warmth that tries to expand across the country around this time.

I’ll have updates in the coming days as the models get a better handle on it.
