Dangerous weather Thursday morning

Update on tomorrow morning’s severe weather threat:

  • Timing of maximum impact on RVA: 6am to 10am; areas towards Suffolk/Hampton Roads could see a line of storms earlier, 3 to 5am
  • Main threat will be very heavy rain (2 to 3 inches likely for areas along and east of 95), damaging winds to 70mph, large hail and isolated tornadoes
  • Winds will remain gusty even after the storms leave, with gusts to 40 likely through Friday.

Much cooler temperatures will be with us for Friday and into Saturday, only reaching the 50s Friday (with lows in the upper 30s Friday night/Saturday morning) and low 60s Saturday. The cool down will only be temporary…we’ll return to 70s and 80s next week!
